Please read&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/griswoldknits.com\/index.php\/disclaimer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><em>full disclosure<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;for more information.<\/em><\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/griswoldknits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/DE3B8DEF-6393-46D6-B087-50CFE5909A18-2.mov\"><\/video><\/figure><p>Materials:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Medium Worsted weight yarn I used Malabrigo Rios in VAA but you can use any brand\/color<\/li>\n\n<li>4.0mm DPN\u2019s or straight knitting needles<\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3AIIaNn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Polyfill\/stuffing<\/a><\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YLg5gy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Cinnamon stick<\/a> or twig<\/li>\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/40Jl5oo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Hot Glue Gun<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>Abbrviations:<\/p><p><strong>K- <\/strong>Knit<\/p><p><strong>KFB-<\/strong> Knit through the front and back loop of the same stitch<\/p><p><strong>K2TOG<\/strong>&#8211; Knit two stitches together<\/p><p><strong>CO<\/strong>&#8211; Cast On<\/p><p><strong>DPN\u2019S<\/strong>&#8211; Double pointed needles<\/p><p><strong>RS<\/strong>&#8211; Right Side of your work<\/p><p><strong>WS<\/strong>&#8211; Wrong Side of your work<\/p><p><\/p><p>Using 4.5mm DPN\u2019s or straight knitting needles CO 12 sts using the picot cast on method (see video for additional help). The picot cast on will give you the frilly look at the bottom of your tree. If you don\u2019t want to use the picot cast on no worries! Simply cast on 12 stitches with your preferred method and continue following the instructions.<\/p><p><strong> This is important!<\/strong> Before we begin the base of our tree we will be knitting a set up row in order to increase the number of stitches to 23. I like to stuff my trees with poly fill and use a cinnamon stick for the base of my tree but you can use whatever you like!
